Novak Djokovic Willing To Forfeit Future Trophies Rather Than Get A COVID Jab

The big news circled around the world after Tennis Star Novak Djokovic was deported from Australia based on his Covid vaccination status which prevented him to stay and compete at the Australian Open.

The 34-year-old tennis star was not vaccinated with Covid jab but arrived in Australia with a medical exemption based on recovery from a prior infection in December.

However, that was considered insufficient by the federal authorities in Australia.

After an ordeal lasting almost two weeks, Djokovic was deported following the intervention of Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke .

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke's decision to cancel Djokovic's visa was made because:

"[His] presence in Australia may cause an increase in anti-vaccination sentiment, in effect because he may be perceived by some as a talisman of a community of anti-vaccine sentiment, leading to various negative consequences".

In his latest interview for BBC he explained following :

·  He tells BBC he is willing to forfeit future trophies rather than get vaccinated against Covid

·  He also said that he supports the individual's right to choose

·  He is also very careful what he puts in his body from supplements , sports drinks etc and based on information that he got about Covid jabs he decided not to take it

This was his exchange with the's BBC's Amol Rajan:

Amol Rajan: Ultimately, are you willing to forego the chance to be the greatest player to ever pick up a racquet, statistically, because you feel so strongly about this jab?

Novak Djokovic: Yes, I do.

Amol Rajan: Is missing the French Open a price you are winning to pay?

Novak Djokovic: Yes, that is a price I am willing to pay.

Amol Rajan: And if it means missing Wimbledon, is that a price you are willing to pay?

Novak Djokovic: Yes.

Amol Rajan: Why Novak? Why?

Novak Djokovic: Because the principles of decision making on my body are more important than any title or anything else. I am trying to be in tune with my body as much as I can possibly can.
